Last week, the Indiana County Technology Center’s Skills USA Chapter represented District 8 Skills USA at State Competitions in Hershey, PA. Seventeen ICTC students, who earned first place during District Competitions, participated at the State Level.
Our students competed with the “best of the best” around the State. Competition was fierce, but ICTC’s Lauren Miller earned first place for her skills in Nail Care. She, and her model Felicity Regan will advance to the National Competition hosted in Kentucky this June. Another notable mention is Nick Robert’s third place win in the Sheet Metal Event. Other ICTC students who participated included Sasha Decker (Action Skills), Troy Lewis ( CNC Turning Specialist), Rachel Swartz (Advertising and Design), Tessa Nelen (Medical Math), Seth Roman (Precision Machining Technology), Kyle Gyenes (Sheet Metal), James Anderson (Electrical Construction), Jennifer Lomman and Savannah Yugovich (Digital Cinema), Kyla Clarke and Spencer McKee (Photography), Taylor Painter (Pin Design), Zack Zombotti (Related Technical Math), and Timothy Gaffey (Masonry). All of these students did exceptionally well and represented the ICTC with pride and integrity. These competitions are a great opportunity for students to experience different learning environments, improve leadership skills and meet like-minded people.
