ICTC CELEBRATES CTE MONTH

The Indiana County Technology Center is celebrating CTE month. CTE (Career and Technical Education) Month is celebrated across the country every February, and is dedicated to increase awareness of the benefits of Career and Technical Education.

All the program areas at ICTC are participating in different ways. Announcements and posters are made to all of the sending schools that are involved with ICTC. Commercials and presentations are created to help raise awareness and have a little fun at the same time. The school holds food days every Friday to get the students to participate and of course enjoy food. The food days include pierogis, french fries, and walking tacos. The food days have always been a success and are still attracting students.

There will be a drug awareness assembly to inform the students of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. In addition, the ICTC is sponsoring other cool events such as the porcupine toss, where students purchase a plastic toy to participate in a tossing event. The person who throws their porcupine closest to the target will win a breakfast or lunch, courtesy of the Culinary Arts program. These events raise money for the Skills Program and helps the cause of CTE Month. ICTC tries to get as many people involved, both ICTC students and others, as much as they can. CTE Month has proven to be a success and a great way to celebrate the ICTC family and Career and Technical Education across the country.
