The ICTC Heidi Allison Character Award
*APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2023*

Mrs. Heidi Allison lived a life of love, compassion, and kindness. Her caring, nurturing character drove her to pursue a career in nursing, earning a B.S.N and M.S.N. from the Indiana University of PA. Her career as a nurse transitioned into the world of education where she would change hundreds of students’ lives. From day one, Heidi fostered a nurturing learning environment that truly impacted all of the students in her program. Her story is more than just another “Cancer” story. Heidi’s story is one of inspiration, acceptance, compassion, faith, and hope.

Her story is a true love story.

Heidi demonstrated dedication to her students’ success in all aspects of their lives – academically, professionally, and personally. Her students learned so much more than just how to be an effective health care professional: they learned the soft skills and character traits so desperately needed in today’s society – compassion, kindness, genuine empathy, and above all love. They applied their skills on a daily basis and with each challenge, quickly learned that focusing on “solutions” was ALWAYS more effective than dwelling on the “problems”. They stood by their beloved teacher until the end – reciprocating the very love and support that their beloved Mrs. Allison demonstrated to them on a daily basis.

Heidi’s unique character defined her. She was the epitome of kindness and empathy. Her genuine love for humankind was demonstrated by her inherent desire to always put others first. The Heidi Allison Character Award celebrates the impact of Heidi’s life by recognizing students who demonstrate these traits on a daily basis – and who, in turn, are helping to make the world a better place – one act of kindness at a time.

Award Recipient will be selected via a random drawing during the In-House ICTC Award Ceremony in May.
